With further reference to your letter of the 18th. June
Ad last, No.21478/02, relative to the suggested reorganization
of the Police Force at Hong Kong Dockyard on the lines of the Colonial Police Force, I am commanded by my Lords Com- missioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you that the Commode in Charge has reported that the following force will be nee -essary to police the Dockyard effectively, viz:-

Chief Inspector

10 Sergeants
24 Constables
Indians

Sergeant Major

48 Constables and 18 Servants (? Chinese)
more will probably be required on the completion of the Dockyard extension.
